For those who experience constipation during pregnancy, try to eat foods that are high in fiber, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole wheat bread and cereals. The hormones a pregnant woman has is what causes constipation. Being constipated can cause severe gastrointestinal problems for a pregnant woman, not to mention it is uncomfortable.

Take your iron pills. Many pregnant women will get anemia at some point during their pregnancy. Your body needs a lot of iron reserves for the birth and after when you are breastfeeding. Ask your doctor early about taking an iron supplement to keep your levels high and prevent anemia in the first place.

One of the best things that women can do in order to achieve a healthy pregnancy is to exercise. This will not only help you to stay in shape during pregnancy, but it also lowers the risk of miscarriage. It has been proven that exercise reduces labor complications and length.

Don’t be afraid to contact your doctor if you suffer any unusual symptoms during your pregnancy. These symptoms include stomach pain, cramping, vaginal bleeding, and especially a decreased level of fetal activity. It’s difficult to tell if everything is okay from the outside, and you’re better off asking your physician to check if something seems strange.

Do not forget about your spouse or partner when you are pregnant. Chances are, they are just as nervous as you are about the baby coming and they need reassurance as well. Spend time together by going to the movies or taking a walk. Enjoy the time you have before your new addition comes!

When you are going to get any type of testing done, make sure to let the doctor know that you are expecting a child. Many chemicals and processes that you come in contact with while you are pregnant can cause adverse harm to the child or complications with your pregnancy.

When you are pregnant, make sure that you add about 300-500 calories to your daily intake. Remember, being pregnant means that you are eating for two and it is important that both you and your unborn baby are fed. Try to eat food that is healthy, such as vegetables and fruits.

Learn how to track your cycles if you are trying to conceive. Learning your cycles will help you find out the optimum times for trying to become pregnant. It will also help you pinpoint when you would have become pregnant so you can have a more accurate due date.

When you are pregnant, it is important that you continue to exercise. Exercise helps reduce the chances of miscarriage and has been prove to help ease the length and pains of labor and delivery. Also, by exercising when you are pregnant, you will help keep off the weight you may gain.
