Getting pregnant should be simple. Then why is it that many women find it difficult? Romance and emotional status is important but there is something more that it required. Sometimes couples do get irritated and impatient when their dream of having a baby does not happen. Sometimes they try out something different and out of the way to achieve this dream.

When two people get married their first concern is not parenthood. They want to spend some together and get to know each other. Slowly, they begin to think that a baby would be a good idea. All women like to be mothers – it is a natural instinct. This is the normal course of things. So despite the high cost of living the dream of having children remains high.

But it is necessary to understand that pregnancy is not to be taken lightly. The wellness and total health of the woman is of supreme importance. As the well being and health of the baby depends on this.

Here are some points to take into consideration when getting pregnant.

- When you are in the fifth or sixth month of pregnancy you should begin preparing for motherhood.

- Try to undertake holistic ways to make sure that your health is always good as it is of paramount importance.

- Intoxicants must be avoided

- Since the pre and post natal periods are stressful, the pregnant woman should have a healthy, balanced diet.

- Proteins and minerals must be a part of the diet.

There are some other factors too that should be taken into consideration. They are:

You should know everything that needs to be known about your body. The woman has to know when is the best time to get pregnant. The ideal time for this is during ovulation. So how does a woman figure out when she is ovulating? There are a couple of ways of figuring this out. First is to figure out the ‘Post Ovulation Time’, which is also known as the Luteal Phase. This is the time that falls between ovulating and when the menstrual cycle begins. It is most often counted as 14 days. The period begins after the Luteal Phase or 14 days after ovulation. There is another method to find out the period of ovulation. This is based on the Basal Body Temperature method (BBT Technique). This requires the use of the special BBT thermometer with which you have to take the temperature of the vagina every morning. When the woman is ovulating the temperature rises considerably. The chance of conception at this time is high.

When is the ideal time to have sex to conceive? This is a very important factor as this determines when the sperm is at its best and when it is best to get into the body to be successful. When the woman is ovulating the sperm has a quick reaction time. So at this time fresh sperm is required. But then one has to consider some problems which the male could also be experiencing. So, in these cases, the man should not release sperm for at least three days before having sex at the prescribed time. This is something you need to know if you want to get pregnant.

So go for a holistic approach when you want to get pregnant. This will help you understand your body and how and when to conceive, as well as why you are not getting pregnant. There are many answers, which comprise of Chinese medicines and herbs, to this problems. This approach also includes lifestyle changes in diet and exercise. In many cases acupuncture is also a remedy. This holistic approach is said to not have any bad after effects while there is better chance of conception.
