Realtors Are Cool, But How Do You Pick One?
By Alex Johnson
While I would need to meet you in person to give you my best advice on how to pick a realtor in your area, I am going to try my best to give you the best generalized tips that work for everyone and anyone trying to pick a good realtor to do their work for them. I hope you do not find these tips too basic or simplistic. Even though they sound as such, they are highly valuable.
The process you want to use to find the best Realtor is to “filter” through a large selection of Realtors in your area. You have to start somewhere to get your initial sample though. I suggest that you go ahead and flip through all the papers in your city, and the yellow pages.
The first filter you’re going to apply to this selection is to try to filter them down by advertising quality. I know some people say that advertising quality is unrelated to service quality, but that’s just a cute saying. In the real world the best products and services tend to have the best ads (in their niche and class of course). So find the Realtors whose ads you like the best.
The next filter I’d suggest using is that you go visit the realtor at their office. The more certificates and diplomas and membership cards and conference photographs they display, the better. Simply belonging to a bunch of realtor organizations and seminars does not make one a better realtor. It does however demonstrate that the person is dedicated to being the best at what they do.
Now, with the two techniques I shared with you, most people would have found their Realtor or picked just one. If for some reason my two first techniques don’t work for you, I still have an old weapon. It’s kind of “old technology”, but it still works! This secret weapon of mine is called “word of mouth”. Just go ahead and ask around, ask people who have had dealing with buying or selling homes, and ask them recommend someone.
For more information, just type in a keyword such as san ramon homes or livermore homes. I really wish wish you the best!
