Reduce Your Risk Of Accidents With A Clean Windshield

By Tiffany Ellis

If you stay as busy as most people do with working and family life, you probably don’t have a lot of time or energy left to worry much over how clean your vehicle is. In the overall scheme of things, a clean vehicle might not be very important, but the one part of your car or truck that you should always make time to clean and keep that way is the windshield. It is a lot more significant than you might think after all.

We all clean the windshield on our car from time to time. When we take it through an automatic car wash, the windshield will get cleaned some too. There might be times when it gets so dirty that we have no choice but to take a few minutes and clean it just so we can see clear enough to drive at all. It is never a good idea to wait until it is that bad before you decide to do something about it. Every time you drive with a dirty windshield, you are putting yourself and your passengers at risk because you are reducing your ability to see.

There is a good reason why you probably have cleaning the windshield like most other people do and that is because it can be annoying. You have those certain areas on the glass that you just can’t get clean no matter how much you contort yourself trying to get to them. The place at the bottom of the glass down by the dashboard is a real pain to clean. There is usually dirt and those last blasted little streaks that just refuse to go away.

It will serve you better if you use a good quality glass cleaner that will not leave streaks, You also have to be sure and use a cleaning cloth that will not streak either. Sometimes the cloth you use will cause even more streaks to appear as you wipe others away. You must have a specific windshield cleaning tool to get to those annoying places that are so hard to clean. If you begin with the outside of the windshield where it is the dirtiest, it should make it easier to see to get the inside of the glass clean.

If a simple thing like keeping your windshield clean can make it easier to see at night or when it is raining, it will definitely be worth the time and aggravation of getting it done. Check your windshield every few days or so and if there is beginning to be a build up, go ahead and clean it and it will take you less time than if you let it go longer and then have to do it later.
