What do you think of the lighting in your home? Is it just the way that you make sure you don’t trip over things, and a way for you to read in the dark? If so, you are really missing out. Lighting these days is so much more.
Lighting is a big deal. You can use lighting for great effect, and it completes the decor of your home inside and out.
One common element in many homes is a modern chandelier. These pieces, which are often a wheel or torchiere style, are very dramatic and decorative as well as practical for your home. This is why so many homes feature them now.
Don’t limit your bold lighting choices to the indoors, though. If you do, you are missing out! You have probably seen those grand mansions and historic homes that have dramatic outdoor lighting shining up on architectural features at night. Did you know that you can install these types of lights quite inexpensively and reasonably? You can set them to illuminate your home, your garden, your patio and so on.
When you see the effect it has on your landscape, you’ll be stunned. It is so easy and inexpensive. The reason is: solar power and LED (light emitting diode) lighting.
Both LED and solar lighting is very inexpensive to run. You can get around 10,000 hours of light from an LED lighting fixture, and none of the energy is lost in the form of heat. The cost of running these types of lights is negligible, so you can run them as much as you want or need to light your home.
Solar lights are also very effective. These lights use photovoltaic panels to collect and store energy from the sun. This energy is then what is used to power the lights. You can get up to eight hours of light after a day’s charge.
Some areas even use solar lights for post and security lights, they are so inexpensive and effective. You can also have a nice lighting for decks and patios this way too.
