Having A Baby Changes Your Decor

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

When you find out you are expecting your first bundle of you it will be the best news you could ever hear. After you tell your family what you are having and you actually realize that you are having a baby the rooms design will have to start for the nursery. What design should you choose? Well this article may help you design a nursery which you never thought of having.

Your options will vary depending on if you find out the sex of the baby, or if you are just going to wait and be surprised. Nurseries used to be restricted to pink if it was a girl or blue for a boy. This is not the case any longer and not only that, but it is no longer a requirement to stick to what use to be consider proper for a baby’s room. You know stuffed animals that are babies, such as chicks, ducks, lambs, etc. No longer does society look at you like you have lost your mind if you want to paint the room purple and put great big dinosaurs on the walls.

Themes for nurseries are a great way to go as well if you are sure on the sex of the baby. Many will choose the Disney theme and others will choose animals or Noah’s Ark. No matter the theme you choose there will be never-ending possibilities that you can create.

Other traditional designs for a nursery are their alphabets or their numbers. Nursery rimes are another great design that you can tie into the themed nursery. Area rugs are great as well to add warmth and textures into a baby’s room. Also once they start crawling this will be a soft area for them to relax.

Other little things you can do are buying clear plastic canisters and putting designs on the outside for holding q-tips, and cotton balls, and little hair bows or any other little thing you can think that you might need. Walls in the nursery can be dark blue, orange, lime green, glow in the dark pink or even turquoise. The baby’s name spelled out in blocks sitting on the chest or hung up on the wall or on a shelf over the bed. These are just a few ideas for decorating that nursery. And sometimes, you don’t have to go to a department store to get really cool things for a nursery. Try out neighborhood garage sales or yard sales! You might be surprised at some of things you can find. Maybe you can find a used bassinet that needs a coat of paint or a rocker that just needs some new cushions. When it comes to a nursery these days, the sky is the limit well and your own imagination of course!

Keep up with current Baby Room Decorating styles and enhance your home with baby rugs.
