By Asem Eltaher

Rubber stamp collections are the latest buzz among collection enthusiasts. Rubber stamps from as old at the 1800s are collected as a hobby and collectors have thousands of categories to choose from. Rubber stamps can range from simple seals to complex and artistic. In addition, they were made to help in running businesses with more convenience.

When decorative stamps came in picture, in the 1970s, people were overjoyed at the prospect of their presence. As people began to express their creativity using these stamps, the manufacturers provided more of them. Before long, it became a habit among people to collect them. In addition to this, newer rubber stamping techniques came into existence.

Rubber stamps -like craft stamps- are sold at stores, carnivals, and websites on an everyday basis to promote new collections that people are so engrossed into. Rubber stamps are collected not only by collectors, but also by people who use them on a regular basis.

Many people use decorative rubber stamps like penny black stamps and pe stamp to enhance their scrapbooks, homemade cards, and other craft projects. In most cases, kids use them for school projects and parents use alphabet stamps to label their child’s books and other belongings. Stamps can be personalized with your name and many styles are made according to themes.

Some of the more popular themes include flowers, animals, holidays, nature, and cartoon characters. Many people purchase an entire set that includes the theme that interests them.

People also use ornamental and carefully made detailed rubber stamps with their own specific envelopes to suit their fancy. Themes can be very entertaining to both the sender and the receiver as people can use rubber stamps, which have specific seals of seasonal designs. For instance, themes in winter can have snowflakes on the seals.

Any mail that you send out during the winter months can be personalized by using these stamps to mention your address and name. These can also be used on holiday cards to serve as return address stamp.

You can vary the stamps during the summer time. In this time, you may choose designs that have the beach, chirping birds, picnic setting, or blossoming flowers.

Briefly, stamp themes can be used in different themes in different seasons to make sure you get your own personalized letter and send it to family and friends. This helps also to make your gifts look unique.

Even businesses use decorative rubber stamps. They have them made to include their company’s name, logo, a corporate crest, etc. There are, of course, standard stamps that a company often uses that have words on them like “paid” or “copy”.

Companies can get regular stamps with decorations and these decorations make an impression on the receiver’s mind. If you are interested to view several designs, then the internet is the best free source.

They are a fun hobby whether you want them for your own personal use, or if you enjoy collecting them. Most sites will typically make one based on your own design, if you do not see something that meets your needs.
