Bathroom sinks are essential for any washroom. You cannot imagine a bathroom space without a sink. Free Standing Bathroom Sinks consist of the best method to conceal piping.

You can install freestanding sinks with the help of your plumber in a day’s time, however, if you have the knowledge of installing plumbing fixtures, it can be done easily in just a few steps.

  1. Close water sources: To avoid flooding in the bathroom, you must close all the water supply coming to the bathroom or the sink (in case it is separate). You should close the water sources before removing the previous sink.
  2. Remove previous sink: Before starting the installation of the new one, you must remove the previous sink carefully. You can use the same piping for the new sink as long as the measurements are same, thus reducing the budget and labor for your new installation. You can use a wrench to loosen the nuts around the faucet. In case the nuts are too tight or are corroded, you can spray it with oil, WD40 or any penetrating oil used for tight screws. It will help with easy removal.
  3. Take measurements: Before making holes for the new sink, you must take measurements. It will help in making holes at the exact places where it is needed. After taking measurement, you can drill the holes.
  4. Water supply connection: Connect the water supply pipe to the main connection given against the wall. If there is not any, you will have to make one from your main water supply coming towards the bathroom. After connecting it, you must fasten the nut and secure it with a thread to prevent leakage or unscrewing.
  5. Drain connection: Any sink is incomplete without a drain connection. The sink will have a space for the drain pipe so you can connect it properly. Make sure that is fastened well against the sink and the main drain assembly to avoid leakage in bathroom. You can also use a sealant to cover the joints of the drain.
  6. Fasten the bolts: Now that the connection is complete you can install and fasten the freestanding sink against the wall and/or floor.
  7. Attach faucet: Once the installation is complete, you can attach the faucet to the sink.
  8. Start the water supply: To check if you have done everything correctly, start the water supply and look for any leakage. Make sure that the waste pipe drains the water in a proper manner and that the hot and cold faucet lines are working accordingly.
