For some it comes easy, while for others, it’s a major challenge. Keeping the house organized needs vigilance and lots of patience. The more stuff there is, the more fixing and cleaning up is needed to be done.

Organizing stuff in the house is quite a challenging ordeal. The laundry room, the closet, the kitchen and even the living room are always subject to disarray. Almost everything will always end up in disarray as Murphy’s Law suggests.

Cleaning and organizing the house may require you to organize stuff in certain ways. There should be an allotted place for each item, and each item should be properly put in its designated place. Categorization is the first step to organization. There are three main categories that you should start with. Stuff that will be thrown away, stuff the will be stored, and stuff that will still be used are main classifications.

There are two ways to dispose stuff – garbage and yard sales. Those that will put in storage should also be organized. Items in the same category should be put in the same box. Be sure to label each box and outline the contents inside. For those items that will remain in use, you can put some of them in storage bins. Other items need to be filed properly.

In the kitchen, it’s a real challenge to organize pots and pans. They are bulky and take a lot of space. It would be better to install a mesh in the ceiling and just hang each item by the handle. Have enough bookshelves to properly store books. If your collection is quite big, arrange them as if in a library. The garage is home for your tools where there are boxes and tool cabinets. You can also put them inside tool boxes before storing them in the tool cabinet. Good tool cabinets should be spacious and sealed shut to prevent rusting.

Organizing the house is a challenging endeavor for you and everyone else. Click here for more help on tool cabinets
