Don’t forget that protecting your door is vital. Criminals prefer to gain entry this way, knocking when you’re home and then kicking in the door. Ensure that it’s protected by a security bar.

Even inexpensive ones withstand a thousand pounds of pressure. That makes kicking in the door an impossibility. If you can’t afford better, a cheaper security bar is adequate.
