If link building strategies are not included in your online ad campaign, you have wasted your time, no matter how well you have planned in other ways. In the final analysis, link building is the only way you are going to generate leads and conversions. There are several ways to do this.

The first step is in the creation of articles. You cannot create links out of thin air. You need to have dozens if not hundreds of articles ready to submit to the major article directories and bookmarking services. Needless to say, creating that many articles is a daunting task, but there are techniques you can use to help make the task easier. While article spinning software can be very bad and generate poor quality content, some programs can be used to create dozens of articles out of just a handful of original articles.

When the articles have been written, then you will need to start putting backlinks into them. Keep the number of back-links to a minimum in each article. This is particularly important to remember if you have created thousands of articles. Be careful not to over use your article backlinks.

The most obvious benefit of backlinks is that when somebody reads your article, they may decide to click on the link and visit your site. That is not their only value, though. The other thing they do is provide web crawlers with information. The search engine spiders look for links and use them as a way to make judgments regarding your article popularity. This is a valuable SEO tool as long as you keep things in balance to avoid being flagged as spam.

Doing link exchanges was once the most popular way to build links. It does not work so well anymore, though, unless you are in a very limited niche market. It is not an effective strategy in the bigger markets.

If you do have a small niche market, be sure to stay within your niche and submit valuable content related to that market. You do not want to get a reputation as a spammer. That could get you blacklisted from sites and make your target market suspicious of you.

If your market is large and you have the budget, you can hire others to do your link building and article marketing for you. They can make comments in blogs and forums and include links to your website for you. This can be an expensive way to build links. Nonetheless, it can be profitable, especially if those you hire do their job properly.

Article marketing requires link building and you can benefit from a service that does both and syndicates your articles like EZArticleLink does. Keep in mind. This is not magic. No silver bullets here. When you come down to it, it all depends on how much effort you put into it.
