Hugh Jackman brings back his highly loved character again for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This effects laden picture tells the beginnings of one of comic books most legendary characters. It doesnt necessarily follow the exact lineage that the years of comics have laid out, but the film makers have done a good job of updating and making the story more accessible to non comic fans.

The Star, Jackman, produced and had a much bigger part in this movie than in the other three earlier films. This movie follows Wolverine from the time he and his brother Vincent were very young and first left home. They fight together through the Civil War, the first and second World Wars and into Vietnam. Vietnam is when the brothers finally meet up with a secret government agency that puts them in contact with other mutants and form a special operations group that travels the world in order to complete special tasks.

Fed up with the actions of his brother and the rest of the group, Wolverine leaves and disappears into a regular life. Finding love and a regular job as a lumberjack, Wolverine thinks that he has broken free of the old life. Little does he know that one of the members of the old group is hunting down the other members and Wolverine is the next on his list. Without going more into the story, he is drawn into a war that he didnt want anything to do with but has no choice but finish. This movie continues the winning X-Men franchise and focuses on just on character.

There are some other familiar characters in the movie, but Wolverine is the focus. The special effects are some of the most ambitious in years, the director and special effects crew went for all that they could get. Not all of the effects work perfectly, but for the most part, the crew did a good job of making the comic book action come to life.

The DVD is full of some cool extras and behind the scene stuff. The BD features on the Blu-ray are cool and the digital copy that comes with the Blu-ray makes it the one to get. The action looks great in HD and is well worth a look on Blu-ray. This movie fits right into the X-Men world and should find a home in any fans collection. Hugh Jackman does a great job bringing his best character back to life.

If you are looking to have a great night in with your friends you should look at CDWow and maybe buy a DVD. They have all sorts of things from movies to games that everyone can enjoy.
