Twitter is ridiculous right now. Anyone who is anyone is tweeting all around the world. It is amazing how fast it caught on and how popular twitter has become. Microsoft and Google and realized what a hit it has been though and now are trying to weave tweets into search engines.

Word on the street is that Google and Microsoft are competing for tweeting. They both want twitter live stream and information to go straight to their site. This can be helpful for twitter though because it will bring a lot more attention to it. Since Google and Microsoft are so big, they around bound to bring a lot more traffic.

All of these companies would need to expand their search engine capabilities if they want to accomplish the task, however since Twitter is right now one of the biggest and most popular sites, with the most visits on the internet, it is a good chance that the bringing them together could truly help all the companies.

Now, you may be wondering why it is that these large successful companies would want to bring the tweets to their search engines, but the answer is really simple. Twitter has many unique users and although much of the information is idol chit-chat it is also a source of breaking news as many who frequent the site carry hand held devices and will tweet about the news as it is happening, making this a valuable resource for companies like Microsoft and Google to have access to.

I guess we will just have to wait and see if anything ever comes from this, however, if the information that is coming through Twitter can be screened well, it can serve as perhaps the fastest news resource on the web. Be careful what you tweet about though, because it could cost you your job if you tweet about the wrong person. And whatever you do, don’t talk about what star didn’t pay their bill or tip you, or you could be in for a lawsuit as well. Make sure you watch out for what you are tweeting!
