Have your sons or daughters ever wanted to be a model? Have they ever wanted to compete in beauty pageants? If you said yes to either of these questions then you should be fully aware of all of the warnings and dangers that come along with modeling. The perfect image is said to be thin and bony, where there is almost no shape left. Children who dream to be models do not understand that modeling can be difficult. They tend to believe that modeling is simply a fashion show with lots of photography and showy lights. Modeling, or some pageants at least also have a lot to do with personal character, but that tends to be rare. Some beauty contests use a general grade point average with a bathing suit competition. Often times there are also interviews or questionnaires in which the potential model will have to prove they are eligible. People tend to view most models and beauty pageant girls as girls who tend to not necessarily be smart and that overall puts a bad image on the industry.

Dreaming to be a model or pageant contestant of some sort is not a bad thing, but there are some cautions that need to be taken before you go out on such an opportunity. Many television shows like America’s Next Top Model tend do portray modeling as fun, but it can actually be a lot of hard work. It is important to realize that before planning to take the pressured job of modeling head on. Models tend to be known to have many self esteem problems and numerous amounts of health and eating disorders, but passionate models from today’s generation can help to alter that.
