Tips For Writing Articles

By Cameron Koors

Articles are great promotion tools. They can communicate a lot of information, sell an idea, or persuade the reader to buy something. But they can do none of these things if they’re not been correctly. Here are a few mistakes many writers make when creating articles for the Internet.

Do not ramble. It’s hard for your articles to be useful if they contain a bunch of irrelevant information. Stay on topic, don’t stray too far from the title, and give people what they’re looking for.

If your title says the article addresses online jobs, don’t start giving dating advice. You waste people’s time by doing this, and you don’t want to lose your readers.

Keywords are extremely valuable tools to use when writing articles. Without keywords, people will not be driven to your site and no one will see your article. You don’t have to use them that much; a small percentage of the total word count of your article should suffice.

When implementing key words, try to imagine what phrase people will type in when searching for article with your topic. Then, incorporate that phrase into your work. But don’t beat people over the head with the phrase; about 2 or 3% of the total article length will do.

Make your articles personal and familiar; don’t get caught up in a bunch of technical jargon and formal speech. People want to read articles they can relate to. Pretending like you are talking to someone is a good tip to help you make your articles conversational.

Write an interesting introduction. Many people believe in continue past the first paragraph if the introduction of an article sucks. And what’s worse than a bad introduction? No introduction whatsoever.

The introduction is important because it sucks the reader in. Make sure to include all relevant information, like what the article is about and why it is significant. Convince the reader that they are not wasting their time by reading the article.

The conclusion is also very important. Slacking off on the last paragraph and leaving out the conclusion will result in a very unsatisfied reader who will be unlikely to read your articles in the future.
