Writing an article is an inexpensive and easy way to promote your business and attract high quality traffic to a website. Article marketing helps to build your credibility as an authority in your industry and attract high volumes of quality traffic to your website.

If you follow the simple steps to writing an article below you’ll be an article marketing expert in no time.

Step #1: Find the audience that you want to target

It’s important to get into the mind of your prospect when writing an article. Think about what they’d like to hear and what they are looking for and tailor your article based on their needs.

You’ll have a captive audience once you know what your prospect is looking for.

Step #2: Choose the right keywords

The whole reason for writing an article is to get your target audience to read it. They’ll never see your article if you don’t choose your keywords wisely. There are two types of keywords to look for when you write an article. They are called short tailed and long tailed.

Example of a short-tailed keyword (Article Writing). Example of a long-tailed keyword (How to Write an Article).

When you’re writing an article you’re best bet is to choose a long tailed keyword, since there’s a lot less competition competing for that keyword. This will be the best chance to get your article viewed by your target audience.

Step #3: Choose what topic you want to write about

It’s time to choose what topic that you want to write about once you’ve chosen your long tailed keyword.

For example, if your long-tail keyword is “writing an article,” than your topic could be “steps to writing an article correctly.”

Step #4: Write article

Writing an article is very simple. The process should only take around 30 minutes to complete. Don’t worry about writing the perfect article. Just sit down and start writing. That’s the most important part.

Here’s some simple steps to writing an article quickly:

1. Think about the 3 main points to your article and make them into one sentence each. 2. After choosing your 3 main points, write 3-5 sentences for each of those points. 3. The 3 main points that you’ve chosen will bee the first sentence of your 3 main paragraphs. 4. The 3-5 sentences will be the body of each paragraph.

All you need is an introduction paragraph now that your three main paragraphs are complete.

*To make your introduction all you need to do is write three to four sentences that summarize the 3 paragraphs.

All that’s left now is the conclusion.

*Write 2-3 sentences that sum up the three main points you’ve written and this will be the conclusion.

Step #5: Write article title

When you write the title it’s important to follow these steps.

1. Put your entire keyword in the title of your article. 2. Put your keyword at the beginning of the title. 3. If you can, make your title a question since people need to have their questions answered.

Step #6: Distribute article

You’ll want to submit your article to as many directories as possible if you want them to rank high in the search engines.

If you want to save yourself a tremendous amount of time submitting to hundreds of directories then you’ll want to purchase an automatic article submitter tool. Unique Article Wizard is a great article submitter tool to use.
