Learning shorthand is not very easy just as you expect it to be and this is because it is different than the usually style of writing you were used to, so, you may be required to have determination, willingness to learn, a good shorthand teacher as well as a good deal of time and patience if you want to learn shorthand writing and understand this kind of writing method.

But still, it is not impossible to learn shorthand even if it is difficult to do so, and as a matter of fact, shorthand can be a very useful tool for your life and your career as it has several advantages too, like:

* Quick notes. When you know shorthand writing, you have the ability to write quick notes, meaning even if the speaker speaks fast and impossible for you to catch up when writing the usual way, with shorthand, you will never miss a thing the speaker says because you can write fast just as you are listening. * All information jotted down. Sometimes, in seminars and lectures, we can’t help but miss some bits of information and the cause is that it took us a long time to write one long word but in shorthand, that long word could become a short word, making it impossible for you to miss some important information to jot down.

When it comes to the benefits of shorthand writing pr who requires most to learn shorthand, anyone can learn but most of the time, if your job requires you to listen to lectures and reports and requires you to write fast, you are the best candidate, so journalists, law officials who attend our hearing more often, government employees, as well as students are mostly the people who can benefit a lot when they learn shorthand.

But you will also find some disadvantages with shorthand writing which is very evident to people having no proper knowledge and mastery of the course:

* Hard to learn. For a first timer, it’s very hard to learn shorthand wiring and it could take so much of your time that you might even lose your patience just trying to learn and master it. * Confusing. Sometimes, you will experience confusion with regards to the symbols or characters used so this requires you to familiarize and master the characters so that when the time comes you really need to write fast or translate a shorthand document to English, it would be easier. * Slower note-writing. One of the advantages of shorthand writing is quicker notes, however, this is only for those who have managed to master or improve their shorthand writing skills because if you have not mastered your skills yet, writing in shorthand would turn out slower than when you write your usual way.

These disadvantages are the reasons why you need a good teacher in shorthand writing because it is only a good shorthand teacher who can:

* Help you learn shorthand. Learning and familiarizing shorthand writing can be done on your own but I tell you, it is not easy and it is not quick, compared to learning shorthand with a good teacher. * Help you master/improve your skills. Learning shorthand writing is not enough because to be able to become a good shorthand writer you do not have to rely on learning the characters alone, but you must also be able to master the characters and the techniques in writing shorthand and when you have a good teacher tutoring you and motivating you, mastering shorthand writing would be a lot easier.

So, if you think shorthand writing is necessary for your career or whatever venture you are undertaking, and if you need help to learn shorthand, it pays when you hire a good shorthand teacher who is not only experienced in teaching but also highly skilled and trained when it comes to shorthand writing.

So, if your career or whatever your venture is, really requires you to learn shorthand writing, and if you think you really need help in learning shorthand, then you definitely must hire a shorthand teacher with sufficient experience, highly skilled and trained in writing shorthand.
