Web Writing: Get Started Building A Great Career Today

By Angela Booth

Are you looking to develop a high-paying writing career? Here’s how: write for the Web. You can get jobs even as a total beginner. As you gain experience, the sky’s the limit on your income: six figures are possible, because website owners are desperate for good writers.

Many new writers quit their day jobs quickly. If you’d rather work from home, you can do this. How long will it take? That depends on your enthusiasm. Writers have done it within eight weeks.

The Web has changed writers’ lives. I could see the possibilities in 1994, but although I’ve been online forever, I’m continually amazed at the new options for writers. A tip: get started now. Get your first job and client: everything starts there.

The easiest way to get started is to get your first writing job, and then the next one. There’s nothing complicated about this. You don’t even need your own website. Let’s look at how you can do this.

1. Search for writing jobs online. As a beginner, you just need one job. This will give you a confidence boost. It will also give you a testimonial, and these are vital.

Your first writing job is the hardest. Not because it’s difficult, but because of your mindset — you’re understandably nervous. Your fortitude and skill will grow with each new job. You’ll find that your clients are understanding, and if you’re happy to provide revisions (you should be) they’ll love you.

You’ll soon pick up the jargon, and writing will become easier with each new project you take on.

2. A gentle hint: once you’re getting easy Web content jobs, learn more, so you can take on more complex gigs.

Build your writing skills, it’s essential. When you do, you can take on bigger projects, which offer higher payments. Many new writers (and some not-so-new) treat writing like a job. It’s not — it’s a career, so no one tells you what to do. Keep learning.

As a Web writer, you have the perfect career. You can pick and choose your projects, and there’s no ceiling on your income.. It’s all up to you.

Web writing is the perfect write-from-home career. Angela Booth’s training gives you everything you need. Start today. Want free writing tips? Subscribe to Angela’s free writing tips ezine.
