A Review Of The Staywell Dog Door

By David Maslow

The Staywell Dog Door is a great idea for anyone that has a pet and wants to be able to let them in and out. We got it a few years ago since we had to work and weren’t home to let the dog outside. At first before we got the door, we were coming home every day at lunch to let the dog out, and this wasn’t convenient at all. We knew we had to find another way to make this work.

One evening we started looking online to see what was available. The Staywell dog door was one of the first things we came across. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. The door has worked wonders and we no longer have to come home during the day to let her out.

When the door arrived, we both were going to install it in the door. I decided to let my husband do it instead and just decided to help out. It was fairly easy to install, but it does take some knowledge of being handy, which is why we let the man do it. If you have to hire someone, this shouldn’t cost to much. It is very easy to install and doesn’t take long at all.

After it was installed, the dog took a few days to get used to it. She was scared of it at first because I don’t think she understood what it did. Once she came around, she loved the idea that she could run in and out when she wanted. This led us to another issue that had to be fixed.

The door came with a latch that can lock it for when you don’t want it unlocked. This was a very important part of finding a door that could lock. Now I don’t have to worry about her going out at night, since I can lock it from the inside.

David is passionate about dog doors, however he also writes on the bark collars. Check out his sites: Staywell Dog Door and Citronella Bark Collar.
