Looking For The Best Proper Dog Training?

By Brenton I. Prattis

Nearly all canine owners make the false presumption that a dog is much smarter than it really is. In fact, your dog simply reacts to you. It wants to be part of the rest and it really wants to be accepted, but it is still an animal with animal instincts. Therefore, I say if you wish to change any unfavorable habits, the absolute best method to approach your pet is just not to scold them or perhaps shout at them, but to focus on changing exactly how they express these instincts.

When clients began sending us their own dogs from Europe, it was somewhat unreal: Americans teaching European dogs for Europeans. As we began to understand why, it made sense. We were providing something most other centers weren’t. Most training facilities in America and European countries utilize the same strategy: dog sport training.

There are facilities that outright sell Schutzhund as well as Ring Sport training as “protection training.” Others attempt to make sport training look like “real-life,” but obviously it’s still sports activity. Regardless of what it’s termed, sport training conditions a dog for just one thing: dog sports.

The obedience might be precise, however sport dogs are taught to execute for short intervals within a controlled setting. The training is completed exclusively with a decoy who will wear training equipment (bite suit or maybe sleeve) and who makes very specific actions. That scenario is unlikely to be duplicated by any possible real-life risk.

We do want to make clear that in our viewpoint there’s nothing inappropriate with dog sports. We have had, and continue to have, people of our staff associated with them.

Simultaneously, we are aware that sport training is sport training, while functional training is definitely functional training. It is possible to cross-train some canines either way, but usually at the expense of overall performance in either area.

What it really comes down to can be summed up in 2 words: functional results. You can call it our “mantra.” The functional outcomes start with impeccable manners and complete off-leash control and conclude with skills within protection which are crucial in protecting home and family. Those skills include sophisticated biting abilities, advanced fighting capabilities as well as advanced handler protection exercises.

We offer 5 training programs ranging from our Obedience (off-leash obedience) and Protection Dog Basics I and II to sophisticated training with the Executive Protection Dog and Elite Family and Estate Protection Dog courses. All trainings include personalized coaching at your home with our training employees. We offer handling instruction to clientele in the States and abroad.
