Your Family And Your Dog Of Choice

By David Claudier

There are many animals which people choose to be their pets, however we won’t be lying if we say that cats and dogs are the most commonly seen types of pets. But you should know that they aren’t easy to care for, especially the dogs. Dogs require a lot of special care, training and other important things. If you get such a pet, then be ready to make it a part of your family.

Getting a pet dog for your family is something big and should never be rushed. It is very important to judge your budget the proper way, think what you would want from your pet and so on, so that you can choose a proper breed. The dogs breed will determine its likes and dislikes and the amount of money, effort and time you will have to spend for food, training, health-care and etc.

After all the hesitation about what type of breed you want, you will probably already have a good puppy in your home. Of course this doesn’t end there. First thing you should is to create an eating program. It depends on the age of the dog. In a simple way it would look like this:
Puppies – 3 meals a day
After 6 months – 2 meals a day
After one year – 1 meal a day
Of course it is very important to offer your dog proper meals.

Of course all dogs pass through various life stages, three main ones – puppy, adult and an old dog. And for each one of these stages, the dogs require different care, food and etc. For instance a young puppy is most likely to be very energetic and playful. This is why it is recommended to feed it with high nutrition foods. Also the training is important, because you won’t like to go back home and find your home ruined by the little puppy.

It is vitally important for both you and your puppy to visit the vet. He will recommend you the vaccinating measures you need to take, for your pet to be healthy and safe. But this way you won’t only protect your dogs from unwanted diseases, but also you and your family.

The best part of having a dog is training it. Of course you can hire a professional to do that, but there are various tricks you can teach the dog to do himself. However it is very important to teach the puppy, the basic things like going potty, not to play with furniture and household items. This way you will ensure the safety of your home.
