Homes In Mesa, Arizona

By nathan oulman

At one time Mesa, Arizona was an excellent city to call home. People wanted to be there because is was warm and dry, close to a lot of natural beauty like the Grand Canyon and within easy reach of both Mexico and Las Vegas and you can get to lots of places fairly easily. In short it was an ideal place to live and an almost perfect place to retire. Unfortunately, the housing market took a complete and total nosedive. Since then, Mesa has been less than ideal. Housing markets across the country have crashed, but Mesa’s has taken a particularly hard hit.

Today there is no piece of property in Mesa that is worth much and the vast majority of property is worth far less than the owners actually owe on it making them virtually a poor investment. Due to these combined factors, the numbers of homes that have been repossessed or foreclosed upon is astronomical. A lot of folks are simply choosing to let the homes go into foreclosed status rather than putting more money into the place when it shows no ability to get back the invested money in the foreseeable future.

Some people had been very established lives in Mesa and have been homeowners for years. But some of these people are calling it quits and walking off from their financial responsibilities. Regardless of whether it’s the proper thing to do or not, this is what’s happening. There is a point of diminishing returns, and once people realize that they have crossed over that point, they are walking away from their houses and going back to renting, rather than owning.

Today the market here has many very nice and well-maintained homes available and at a mere fraction of the actual worth. There are so many of them available that it is truly a buyers market and you can almost name your own price if you are shopping to buy one.

The entire state of Arizona is really suffering through a poor housing market right now, and it does not show many signs of improving any time soon.
