Niche Marketing And Mass Marketing In Real Estate

By Ann Jordan

Marketing is a very important aspect to consider when it comes to selling just about anything. For redding ca real estate agents, it is even much more important than closing deals. Closing a deal may put food on tables for a month but effective marketing is what will provide enough food all year-round. There are many approaches that agents can employ although most have difficulty discerning which from mass marketing and niche marketing would work well.

Mass marketing is known as the approach of considering the residents of a country or an entire community as potential customers. It is far different from niche marketing because the latter focuses more on particular customers and subdivisions, leaving out others in terms of consideration. These two forms, nonetheless, have a similar purpose of persuading both sellers and the buyers into engaging business deals with companies and agencies.

Mass marketing is often considered the form that is much easier to discern. Everyone will be considered customers. This is also why the marketing methods necessary for this form are rendered demanding since they need to reach as many people as possible. Usually, television advertising is considered for this. Others may lean more on direct mail or billboard campaigns.

There are many companies that will consider mass marketing because this form draws in customers from wide varieties of potential markets. A company will only need a few responses for them to attain success. However, the mode in which the responses are to be acquired will in turn require not only efforts but investments in advertising as well.

Niche marketing targets specific subgroups like home buyers running on bad credit, those looking for million-dollar homes, vacation homes or retirement homes. It is an approach that is more focused as compared to mass marketing. Advertisements will usually be run on specific channels only and not marketed to networks. Although flyers may also be of use, these will have to be designed in a way that will show off only the expertise of agencies.

There are a lot of companies considering niche marketing mainly because this does not require reaching as many people compared to mass marketing. This means less money will be spent on marketing deals. Agencies that have been able to target interested consumers can successfully generate response rates, even higher than that which mass marketing can provide.

Nonetheless, there are notable disadvantages or risks entailed in going for niche marketing. An example is when a company fails in the selection of workable niches. It is possible that not many people will turn out interested in the offered products. Sometimes, competition in subcategories also get too tight.

Although on the positive side, most shoppers only consider acquiring at least one name of an agent before selecting who they should be engaging in business with. Those who have managed to establish themselves as excellent niche experts will have an advantage. They have greater chance of picked out among several candidates.

It really is a challenge for most redding ca real estate companies to decide between mass and niche marketing. But perhaps, by catering time analyzing all prominent advertising factors that may hold effect on deals, knowing which will work best will not take too much. Studying what the other competitors in the industry are doing may help as well.
