Real Estate Investors Should Make New Year’s Resolution

By Maria Valenzuela

Agents, sellers and buyers have their new year’s resolution so a real estate investor can have one, too. New Year’s resolutions are just some things you did in the past that all went wrong and that you wanted to change and be successful this year if ever you decide to do it again. It instructs an investor to be effective and successful this year unlike the previous year. It allows a lousy investor to start in a clean slate and do something differently in 2011.

Have read the recent article of Jean Folger, “10 Habits Of Highly Effective Real Estate Investors”? Surely. you had incorporated these 10 habits on your new year’s resolution list especially if you have plans in investing, but if you haven’t then here are they:

1. Treat Investments as Businesses 2. Know the Markets 3. Maintain High Ethical Standards 4. Develop Focus or Niche 5. Strive to be Good Customer Service Representatives 6. Stay Educated 7. Understand the Risks 8. Invest in a Reputable Accountant 9. Find Help 10. Build a Network

Contemplate first on your last year’s list and remind yourself of the things that you haven’t accomplished or the goals you haven’t finished before you incorporate these 10 habits to your new year’s resolution. History repeats itself so you better take a look at your past mistakes for the last time before you begin making new ones. How are you going to pull everything over if you are not going to take the time in finding out how you did in the past? If you have a wonderful year then complement yourself, but don’t be in denial if you think you have a bad one. Acknowledge this fact so you can resolve the past mistakes and that you can make new plans to be better this year.

If you have read tons of strategies in real estate investing from different investors or real estate writer’s themselves you know that it’s time to stop reading and write down your plans for this year. Remember that this year is all about growth and this only happens when you expand your knowledge on real investing strategies to bring in more opportunities.
