Scottsdale And Mesa Homes

By Logan Oulman

Many families are overwhelmingly demanding land, real estate, and homes in Scottsdale, Arizona, and there are a variety of explanations why. One reason may have to do with always finding something to interest you, whether you would rather stay indoors or spend your time out of the house.

As you may know Scottsdale became home to the world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1937. Wright built Taliesin West, his winter abode, studio and architectural school in the beautiful Sonoran Desert, shaded by the McDowell Mountains.

Visitors from all over the globe still flock to Taliesin West as it has become what is essentially a living laboratory of his design ideas as well as his legacy. Wright’s private home is open to visitors and has been restored by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation to look inside and out how it did when first built in the 1930s.

Guests marvel at the ingenuity that Wright utilized to create a living space that incorporated both indoor and outdoor areas, as they enjoy regularly scheduled tours of Taliesin West, that run from one to three hours. Interested visitors may choose among tours of the Cabaret Theater, the Music Pavilion or the Wright’s office which are connected via gardens, terraces and paths with views of the vivid desert and valley nearby.

One of the loveliest of Scottsdale’s resort properties, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, also reflects Wright’s unique architectural vision according the the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. Along with Wright’s influence, this extravagant resort boasts a past that includes many well known Hollywood visitors.

The real estate landscape in Scottsdale has also been greatly influence by one of Wrights students, Vernon Swaback. Swaback helped design and build award-winning custom homes, hotels, office buildings and recreational areas in the Paradise Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale areas in the two decades he spent at Taliesin West. Good luck from
