The New Definition Of Aged Care

By Byron Jonas

Whatever happened to treating your neighbors as you would want to be treated? How about respecting your elders? Both of these come to mind as we stop to look at the aged care in today’s society. Look at all the mistreatment of the elderly that are out there. What do we mean by this?

The first thing is that in many nursing homes, the elderly aren’t visited. Part of the care that they need is social care. They need to be loved. They need to feel as though they are in a comfortable environment which is normally not the case with the elderly. They are left at these institutions and never seen.

The nurses are even worse. There are many elderly who lay in their beds getting bed sores because they cannot turn themselves. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s still reality. It’s something that many individuals don’t even know is going on when they place these elderly people in these homes.

There are many elderly people who can’t help what they do. They are yelled at. They are told to stop the thing that they can’t control. This tears at their emotional state. Now, that’s mistreatment when you look at the care of those who can’t any longer care for themselves.

There are some even that when people come in they find that they have bedsores. They are left in bed too long. They aren’t turned as they are supposed to be to keep them from getting these bed sores. This is something else that many are dealing with.

There are some who are left to lay in their own fecal matter for hours on end. How right is this? While others are abused. Something has to change when you are addressing the care of those who might not be able to take care of themselves any longer, but did so before.

Dignity is something that any person this age wishes to keep. However, many who enter these homes are not left with this. It is taken away from them. Many die in nursing homes due to the mistreatment and the lack of care that is given to them. If they don’t die, they become severely depressed. Some stop eating and more. You can do your part that if you know someone who might need a home or is in the home, you can check on them to ensure that they are being cared for. There are many sides to this sort of care.

Many individuals will need to go to one of the assisted living facilities. Aged care accommodation is nothing to be ashamed of and we are going to make it simple for you.. This article, The New Definition Of Aged Care is released under a creative commons attribution license.
