New York Mets A Team Of Trouble, Of Sorts

By Freddie Brister

When the season began the New York Mets looked to be a team in a world of trouble. There were more story lines developing than in a Mexican soap opera. The team looked to be nothing but a bunch of headlines for people to laugh at, then the halfway point of the season arrives and things look different.

Even heading into Spring Training, there was doubts that the team would be able to hold together to get a single win this season. Then the unthinkable happened, they became a team and instead of falling apart, became a lot stronger.

The new pitching coach has given the team an increased sense of purpose in the fact that they are now able to get better accuracy with their pitching as well as not over doing it in their workouts. This has helped the bullpen overcome a lot of the issues that they had been experiencing when they were on the field.

If you looked at the team during spring training, and then look at them now, you will see that there is a massive difference in the two teams. This leads many to question if they are truly ready this season to head all the way to the World Series.

Depending on who you talk to, will depend on what the answer will be as to the impact that the Mets will have in the second half of the season. There are several experts that see this as being a short lived burst that the team is experiencing for the moment.

There is a new sense of pride in the infield and outfield as well. This has led to some of the more spectacular catches in the history of the Mets. This also has held more runners at base than any other team in the league. These facts cannot be argued and as a result the Mets are destined to be the team in which to beat this season.

Regardless of what you may have thought when the season began, the team has worked hard in the past few months in order to gain the affections and following of the Mets fans. There are more jumping on to say that they are proud to be a Mets fan every day. This has led to there being an increased following for the team.

There is no real reason why the problems of the past, will bother the Mets as they charge towards the end of the season. The more that they are told they won’t make it, the more determined that they will become. This is the best time to jump on the Mets bandwagon, and claim that you have been a lifelong fan. If not then your friends will have a team to root for and your team will more than likely be a victim to the New York Mets.
