Nowadays, those days are gone when camping only meant sleeping in the tent. The other alternatives that can be used in this particular context are RV, commercial campgrounds and varieties of options. When the camping takes place in a correct way, they are able to give us a complete satisfaction of mind.

There are some tips that should be followed while selecting these tents so that you can get the advantages without having any problem. The main purpose of this particular tent is to provide protect us from wind, rain and cold. Apart from protection they also provide privacy.

The wind conditions, wildness in the areas are some of the things that are found in most of the camp sites. These days, the tents are made of nylon fabric in which sometimes fiberglass or aluminum poles are used. There are mainly four types of tents named as A-frame tent, dome tent, cabin tent and the geodesic tent.

The most popularly used tent is known as the A-frame tent. These particular types of tent were first used by the scouts of America. In this you will find that it forms a triangle shape at both the ends and consists of two poles.

There is also a central pole that forms the ridge of the tent. The walls are formed at steep angles and are usually just large enough to accommodate a person sleeping. To help hold the tent in place guide wires are used. This type of tent is usually very unreliable in windy conditions. In rain conditions a tarp is often needed to keep campers dry.

The dome tent is ranked as second among the different types of tents available in the market. This is the most popular type of tent used in the country known as US. These tents are made of different configurations. The common configuration that is found in these tents is those that are available with two jointed poles.
