Places To Find Great Camping Spots

By Paul Cameron

Camping is an enjoyable and adventure packed leisure activity. The best part about it can be that you have so many different choices when it concerns camping locations. Here’s a look at some of the finest places to pitch a tent.

State parks are among the greatest places to go camping. Even though you have to pay to get into a state park, the cost of admission is more than worthwhile. Also it’s normally much less than you would pay at a private campground. Most state parks feature hiking trails for your enjoyment, as well as ponds, streams or lakes in which you can swim, fish, go boating, water ski and much more.

Private campground parks are also a common option. They generally have a large number of camp spots and have all kinds of amenities and activities. Activities normally include swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, and even more. Most campground parks also feature facilities such as game rooms, first aid offices, laundry rooms and security staff.

While most campground parks and state parks are located in forested regions, you can also camp out along the beach. There are numerous camp sites bordering on streams, ponds, lakes and rivers. Generally these waterfront camping sites are privately owned, and you simply make a reservation and pay a fee to set up your tent.

A further option that many people don’t think of is camping out in your own backyard. Backyard camping is ideal if you are just experimenting with camping or if you would like to enjoy the outdoors with your children without all the hassle of leaving your home.

When you’re figuring out where to camp out, you may want to consider the distance from your home to your getaway, the cost of making a reservation, and what types of activities are available onsite or close by. If you have young children, you will likely not want to go on a backwoods camping adventure – the privately owned campground might be your best choice. On the other hand, if you’re a true outdoors person, a state park that offers a range of natural adventures might be more interesting to you.

There are a number of essential pieces of equipment that you’ll need before you head out to the campsite. A camp stove is one of them. Visit Camping Equipment Online for information on the camping supplies you need.
