Golf is not only fun and rewarding, but can really be good for your health too. Golf is something everyone can learn. Read these tips to do that.

If you are golfing with new people, be sure to introduce yourself before starting the round. Golf is a pretty social game, as you spend several hours with a group. Find interesting things to talk about and show interest in your fellow players. You will enjoy the social aspect of golf if you make efforts to be sociable.

For maximum contact, accuracy and distance, you need to ensure that your club’s face is hitting the golf ball as squarely as possible. The ball will travel on a straight line if you get this right. If the club isn’t squared with the ball, the ball won’t travel in the direction you intended. Play around with your grip until you can easily hit the ball consistently at 90 degrees.

Your body itself can serve as a golf trainer. The power of your swing is created through the use of your entire body. Use your whole body to execute every stage of your golf swing. This can help propel the ball further so that you don’t have to swing the arms too hard.

Stay in the right stance. If you are unsure if you are standing correctly, simply perform this simple test: try to tap your toes up and down without moving your feet. If you can tap your toes after trying hard enough, you have a good stance. Wiggling your toes is hard if you’re leaning too much towards the ball and excessively easy if you’re leaning back too much.

Before you invest any money in a new set of commercially packaged golf clubs, you might want to consider getting a custom-made set instead. This will make the club suit your body type exactly. A golf club perfect for someone else may not work for you. Getting the club that suits your body can help your swing.

Whether you have heard or not, you can actually improve your golf game by playing miniature golf. Your short game will benefit from the efforts you put into working around small obstacles. Having to putt over two hills and through a windmill is a bit whimsical no doubt, but it can translate well to putting success on a real green.

Make sure you mark your ball with initials before you start playing so you can distinguish them from other player’s. By ensuring this knowledge is shared, you can avoid racking up your score with penalty shots when your ball lands close to another one because you can verify you are hitting the right ball.

As stated in the beginning of this article, golf can be quite confusing if you have never played before. You now have the information that you need about golf. Judge the sport on your own terms and give it a try, to see if this is a sport that you could get into!
