There are some important golf tips on chipping that all golfers should be aware of. Golf tips come in all areas of a players game. Few though are as fundamentally important as the chip shot, almost all skill levels have some issues that need improvement.

The chip shot is a difficult stroke to learn. Many golfers ignore this part of their game in favor of another part. The problem is no matter how consistent your stroke is on any given day there are times when your shot will not reach the green and be sitting on the fringe instead. Now in order to make it on the green you need to have mastered the chip shot. This shot can be mastered with time, patience and practice.

Few realize how important their setup is when it comes to this shot. Before setting your body for the shot make sure to rest the club face behind the ball. Contrary to popular belief when it comes to this shot the only correct way to aim is to place the club on the ground first then set your body. One way to make sure you set the club before your body is to keep your legs closed.

The other key tip to any setup is to take a moment to make sure your shoulders are set properly. When it comes to shoulders being set properly this means they need to be square. Square shoulders make sure that your shot will go where you aimed it. You can also often fix errant chip shots by simply making sure your shoulders remain square throughout the shot. This is best done when you setup your body for the shot.

Correctly making a chip shot means to not only keep in mind where your body is and that your shoulders are square but also where your ball is. When you are ready to address the ball make sure your ball is lined up with your body correctly. The best way to do this is to make sure your belly button is over the ball. This centers your ball perfectly in between your shoulders. A golf ball during the chip shot should be hit at the bottom of your down swing, not before or after, the best way to ensure this is place your ball in the middle of your body.

Once all these pre shot setups have been checked and re checked you need to focus on your back swing. The number one thing to remember is to keep your triangle in tact, the triangle is the position of shoulders down to arms and hands. This proper triangle means your shoulders, arms and hands are all moving back at the same time. Your lower body should be loose and your body weight correctly balanced.

Few amateurs care about what happens with their swing after their club has made contact with their ball. This however is detrimental to their shots. Remember to keep your swing going to the end and hold it there till the ball stops rolling. Staying with your shot and holding it till the ball stops rolling means you will make solid contact with the ball every time.

Keep these golf tips on chipping in mind the next time you practice or play a round. Place your club down before you setup, square your shoulders and make sure the triangle is not broken. Once hit continue the shot to the end, this means when the ball stops rolling.
