Why Are Pump Paintball Guns So Popular?

By Baxter Wells

Pump paintball guns are increasing in popularity amongst avid paintball players. When the sport that we commonly know as paintball first derived, individuals would use guns full of paint and chase each other around while shooting the gun at opposing players. The goal of the game was to cover the other team in your paintball colors and you would be declared the winner.

The first paintball gun was put on the market in 1970. Before paintball became a sport people used to use these guns for target practice, as well as to mark cows and trees around their homes.

Pump paintball guns have four major components that allow them to perform the task of shooting balls of paint. The guns barrel is the first part of the gun. In this area, the paintballs that you load will eject from the hopper area of the gun. The body of the gun is also an essential component. Typically, these guns bodies are made to emulate the appearance of a real gun.

The hopper is the third part of the gun. The hopper is the area where the paintballs that you will be using for the sport will be held. The hopper sizes will differ based upon the actual type of size of gun that you desire. There are some hoppers that are designed to hold a few paintballs at one time, while others may hold up to fifty at one time.

The guns air tank is the last major component of these guns. The air tank is normally featured inside of the gun. The main task that this tank performs involves applying enough pressure inside of the gun for your paintballs to escape through your guns barrel.

Be aware, that there are many different types of paintball guns on the market these days. Some guns are referred to as automatic guns, this means they will shoot paintballs without stopping until each ball has been emptied from their hopper. However, there are other guns that will need to cocked every time that you decide to shoot a paintball from its barrel.
