School Your Self About Skimboards

By Paul White

If you are the type to be interested in surfing, skate boarding, snow boarding, and other types of things to stand on and slide and glide on, then you will be keen on skimboards. These easy to use, easy to build, and easy to handle devices are way too much fun, and are wholly recommended for a good time.

These things are more fun than a barrel full of monkeys, and so easy to make that a monkey could do it. All it comes down to is a disc of plywood, maybe something to seal the wood up with, and a wet spot to slide it across. Oh, and some guts are good, too.

And even if you do surf, some days the waves are down. If you snowboard, some times there is no snow. But lakes and ponds and the edges of the river are always good for at least some shallow water, right? So is the edge of the ocean shore. These are the days to slip and slide and glide.

What you are going to want to get stared is a disc of plywood. Try to get some thick enough to not break underway, and big enough to cut about a two-and-a-half foot circle. You want to be able to stand on it with both feet and still have plenty of room to jump on and off of the thing. Then seal with old paint or whatever that will do the trick.

Get some paint, or some crayons, or whatever you can scrounge up and decorate it. Put you name on it, or carve it if they will let you handle sharp tools. At least put your name on the thing so someone does not take it for a dog house door or something.

Now that your deck is decked out, it is time to take it out and get it wet. Find a patch of water, after a heavy rain is an excellent time to go looking, and get ready for a blast. Toss the thing down on the wet spot, run up to it, hop on, and see how long you can stay on. It will probably not be too long, but you will definitely want to get right back on.

Find the best skimboards by heading online to choose the right one. You can find great deals on skimboards and accessories you might need. Head online for your needs.
