Uses Of Hog Feeder Lights

By Lela Perkins

Hunting of wild hogs is made easier with the use of hog feeder lights. Due to the darkness that is usually normal at night, it can be very hard for one to hut successfully. It is also good to note that only some types of lights can be used to do this in the forest and not just any. The reason being that they possess some outstanding qualities.

The manufacturers usually focus on three major colors in their production. The colors are red, green and white. This is because they produce mild form of light. These mild colors are used to avoid destructing other non targeted animals in the forest. Red is very popular over the others since it is the mildest in the group. White on the other hand can at times be a source of destruction since it is very bright. This could therefore make the hunters not to go back home with any ‘fruits’.

Others just decide to make home-made hog feeders that they use in their hunting. They use LED break lights to make them. This is because with the use of the LED brake light sources, they can easily do the wiring. It is simple for just any person. After they are ready, they then hang them under their feeders. This type of creativity also utilizes the locally available material thus its economic.

The sources have to be placed somewhere above, which is the reason they are mounted on trees. They should try as much as possible to mount them during the day. Mounting them at night means eating up the time set aside for hunting. After mounting them, they have to make sure that they are having the right form of wiring. They confirm that they are actually lighting so that when they come hunting there will be no problems.

The main aim of the hunters is to get the hogs moving at night. These animals move more during the day and less at night. This is because they feel secure during the day but the darkness in the night scares them. The light produced thus makes them keep moving even at night, though not for so long. During their movement is when the hunters strike.

The hunter also has to be very tactical for them to have a successful activity. They have to adjust the light and the feeder in a way that will attract the hog. They also have to be at a specific position. The light and the feeder should just be a short distance from them else they will miss their catch. This thus calls for accuracy during set up.

Recharging the lights uses different sources. A variety of them are made to use battery cells. These cells used however have to be chosen with respect to the size of the lighter and then size of light emission. Some of them use solar to recharge them. Solar is the cheapest way to charge these lighters. There are those that are electrically charged. This is a difficult way to operate since there might not be any source of electricity in the forest. It calls for demounting then mounting when the light has been recharged.

They have a price range of $100 to $200 depending on certain factors. One of these factors is the number of hog feeder lights that are offered. There are those that are many and the lesser ones. One does not need to take on that they will not use fully. The other factor is wattage. The buyer should always check the wattage as the ones with a huge wattage are equally sold at high prices. Buyers should therefore check these important factors before buying.
