It should be disposed in the right places. If this is not done, human beings may be affected. They are likely to be infected by diseases associated with dirt. Government should design good sites of dumping unwanted products. Products that can be reused should be evacuated from those that cannot be reused for use as raw materials. Dumping sites usually produce bad smell and smoke hence advisable to locate them away from homesteads due to health of the people living around.

Good handling of garbage should begin from the point where it is collected. During collection, garbage is separated according to the type. The two categories comprise of renewable and the non renewable ones. The containers in which the garbage is stored should be locked to avoid them from spilling as they are being transported. During the recycling process, harmful gases ought to be well trapped to stop them from escaping into the environment.

Many investors have ventured in the business of collection of garbage in urban centers due to high amount of income yield. Due to rise in number of people living in urban centers, controlling of garbage has become a critical issue. Those involving in collection of refuse come up with a timetable of how they will collect unwanted products of various places. Homeowners on the other hand put refuse collected throughout the week in one container then forward to collectors during dumping day.

However, garbage collection differs from one area to another. Even though the government is in charge of taking care of garbage, it is good for the residents to take it upon themselves the task of carrying out this work. In some instances, the no governmental organizations may come in to assist in this.

Most developing countries dispose their industrial and residential garbage by burying them into dug pits. A properly designed landfill can be hygienic and inexpensive since you do not require use of machinery. It is however, ineffective when it comes to non-biodegradable products because are left exposed to the environment when the pit fills.

Landfills that are not well designed may be very harmful. They may attract flies which bring about harmful diseases. After these materials have decayed, bad smell may be generated. In case one inhales such smells for a long time, he or she may get infected by diseases.

In developed nations, they adapt to a much advanced process of handling waste known as incineration. This is a process where solid materials are turned to gases and liquid which are easy to treat before disposal in order protect society from inhaling harmful gases.
