Top Steps For Doing A Test

By Tom Addison

Having to take a test can cause anyone to stress. If you have an exam coming up, do not worry about it. If you follow these tips you will do well on it.

The best thing you can do is write down notes when there is a lecture in class. The information given during the lectures is what most instructors will put in the exam. Write as quickly as possible to ensure you catch the key information that should be on there. When you get home, one of the first things you should do is go over your notes. This will give you a chance to correct any words that were written down in a sloppy manner due to trying to write quickly. This will allow you to remember what you were trying to write, while it is still fresh in your mind.

When the teacher passes out study guides, make sure you fill out all of the answers. You can look up the answers to the questions you do not know in your notes or in your text book. Looking up these answers on your own, will allow it to stay in your mind during the day of the exam. For those questions you are still unsure about, you can ask the instructor for help. This is why it is important to answer the study guide questions as soon as you receive it.

The worst thing you can do for an exam is procrastinate. You do not want to hold off until the night right before taking tests to go over the material. You should be reviewing the material you receive since the day you get it. Studying the night before the test, is helpful, however it should not be the only day you do it.

Stress before exam happens to majority of people. You can find stress relieving techniques to help you through it on the day of the test. Walking or jogging days before the exam can help you relieve body tension you might be building up. It is important that you get plenty of rest before, so that you are awake and focused during the exam.

Having a healthy breakfast that morning will also help you stay alert during the test. It is important to just take a deep breath and relax. If you follow these simple steps you will notice that most of the answers on the exam are things you already knew.
