Sooner or later, we will all die. Nonetheless, when a man or woman we love dies, we undergo a period of despair. The passing away of a beloved changes our outlook about life; this time, we consider it is very precious and fragile. When a beloved passes away, we cannot avoid wishing that we could somehow turn back the clock and bring our beloved back.

Often, it is never effortless to promptly come to terms with the death of a beloved. At this time, there is nothing that could substitute for the shared memories or the part that a departed loved one played in your life.

The seasons continue changing even after your beloved has been laid to rest, and you find yourself picking up the fragmented shards of your life. Your loss is great; after all, your beloved had a main part in your life. For that, you mourn.

Mourning can totally take over the life of an individual who has lost a loved one. To deal with the sorrow brought about by the death of a loved one, you must take action. Taking action allows the grieving individual to honor the life of the dearly departed and commemorate and treasure it.

Funeral services for a dearly departed is one action that aids you face your own sorrow. Cultures all over the globe – even the olden ones – have means of honoring the departed. It gives those who are grieving a seed of solace, support and comfort.

Some of the most well-known memorial tributes to departed loved ones are the gravestones we place on the tombs of those who have gone on ahead; art work or musical compositions personally produced by you may also serve as meaningful tokens of tribute; or you can opt to organize a meaningful commemoration service with friends who you can laugh and weep with you as you reminisce about the life of your loved one who passed away.

The sorrow that one experiences in the passing away of a loved one could not be equated to how other individuals would experience it. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself different ways of processing your feelings. If you are artistically inclined, you may express the sorrow you are going through by painting, writing stories and poems or by composing your own music.

It is also good to have the care of family and friends as you go through this period where you have to process your thoughts and feelings to be able to come to terms with the loss of a beloved.
