Dealing With The Mess After Cooking

By Clark Truman

Cooking is one of our favorite pastimes; we all love to show off our culinary skills to friends and family. But one question always comes up, how do we always manage to make such a mess when preparing food?

This has annoyed us all for many years, in fact since the time of servants and masters. In those days you let the servants do all the preparing, cooking and most importantly the cleaning up after. All you had to concentrate on was sitting down and enjoying your meal.

This never used to be a problem for the poorer families either. This was because they could not afford such lavish meals. What they could afford to eat was never wasted, and so there was very little mess to clean up afterwards.

To make matters even worse, today we have the so called time saving gadgets to help us cook. This unfortunately means that they also need to b cleaned as well.

The wealthy of today may still have a cleaning lady to do their cleaning. But I doubt that they would leave the kitchen in a state for her to clean up.

It is safe to say that cooking remains one of my passions in life. Cleaning up however is certainly no a passion. I have tried to do various things that I thought would help but without success. That was up until I discovered his little gem of an idea.

If you keep a dish full of soapy water next to you as you do your cooking it certainly helps. As you finish using items of kitchenware wash them up. This way you only end up with a little washing up to complete at the end of your cooking.

If you always leave everything until the end you undoubtedly end up with a mountain of washing up to do. If you have guest over, you will have to clean up after they have gone, and this could lead to a long tiresome night. Cleaning as you finish with things lets you enjoy your night without thinking about clearing up afterwards.
