Feng Shui House – Indoor Plants for Pure Air and Health
By Clark Meyer
One of the many aspects of the Feng Shui House decorating discipline is the importance for clean air indoors. In order to achieve and maintain good Chi, you must take steps to improve the quality of air in your home. The reasoning behind this is due to the fact that air on the inside is often times more harmful than the great outdoors.
Indoor pollution is a big problem when you want to use good Feng Shui at home or work. Trying to get the help of a Feng Shui consultant, using the Feng Shui Ba-Gua eight directional map and the Feng Shui compass won’t help at all unless all things you are able to control are beneficial to you, and that means cleaner air indoors. Luckily for you that there is quite a list of inside plants that can help make your home’s air pure providing better Chi.
Before getting into a list of indoor plants that clean the air, it’s important to realize why you need them. There are actually many pollutants indoors that are harmful known as volatile organic chemicals or VOCs. If your home has carpet, synthetic products, plastic and certain types of plywood within your house, these items slowly break down releasing the volatile organic chemicals. Some plants will do a great job at cleaning and purifying your air.
Here is an abbreviated list of air purifying plants that would be most beneficial for your Feng Shui home:
1. Boston Fern – This plant is adept at removing formaldehyde as well as other pollutants inside your home. These plants are popular and will make your home beautiful; however, they will take a lot of care to live well.
2. Rubber Plant – This is another great house plant which works to remove a variety of pollutants. The rubber plant is quite hardy and has a tough constitution that can withstand low light and cold temperature.
3. Peace Lily – This plant is quite popular in the spring, so you should go ahead and buy a few of these lovely plants that remove quite a bit of toxins from your indoor environment.
4. English Ivy – English Ivy is great for removing formaldehyde from the air. It’s easy to grow and helps to purify the air.
These plants can be used to purify the air in your home. However, they aren’t a great idea in your bedroom if you want a good Feng Shui room. These plants have a lot of energy, and you don’t want a lot of energy when trying to sleep. Use them throughout the home for great Feng Shui house and clean air, but keep them clear of the bedroom.
