Karma And Past Lives

By Guest

Past Life knowledge is meant to make us stronger, not leave us feeling subject to the whims of circumstances beyone our control. We exist in a universe of constant change and we cannot separate ourselves from what is going on in it. Yet within this wider world there is a bigger picture to understand. Our lives are not just about this life and this death but goes far beyond; a longer thread that knits together past and present. Past lives help us come to grips with how we used our energy for ourselves, and together with others, to impact on our karma.

Karma has been used to allow us to understand how things should balance in the wider world. The problem in the karmic theory is that it has, generally, to be understood through faith or conditioning; a way of making people fear for what would happen if they failed to live by certain rules. The original meaning behind karma was to create a world of harmony but this has been overshadowed by social control. Now most believe that karma is something unpleasant and unstoppable; it has been likened to fate, chance and the mentality of the victim.

It’s simple to become a victim if we think and feel like one. If we come to believe that we are the victim of circumstance then we are looking for something our there to fix the problem not to ourselves. It is here that we come to be the stooge of a false understanding of karma.

Karma comes from an oriental tradition but the concept of sins needing to be paid for is to be found in many religions and cultures. It is a way of helping people know that justice is to be found even if it has to wait till after the end of this life; that personal actions now will always have consequences to face up to. The problem with this is that it is based on faith in right and wrong rather than the knowledge that justice is to be found in a person’s heart. It is to be found in the flow of personal intention and cannot be ordered around simply with a set of rules. This is karma’s true meaning.

In Hindu astrology, understanding of karma is ruled by the moon and it’s aspects named as north and south nodes. The moon reflect the light of the sun, our personal moon reflects how we have moved through our own personal sun. It tells our story, the one inside us, which is why it is linked to the subconscious. When our inner self is shining then our personal sun also shines, likewise when we hide our truth our sun is also hidden. The north and south nodes of our moon are not like planets but they are invisible polars acting within our time line, giving us a sense of self.

In eastern tradition past lives and karma have been linked through the story of the Dragon. The Dragon is the mythical beast that flies through the sky and leaves a trail of fire for all to see. There is a Dragon within all people of passion and open hearts. The most powerful Dragon is the conscious Dragon. The way to become a conscious Dragon is to become conscious of what opens our heart and lights up our passion and inner fire. That means we have to know ourselves and our personal story well enough to awaken our inner Dragon.

The south node of the moon when it comes to karma is referred to as the Dragon’s Tail and expresses the past and what we have done in the past leading up to this life. The empowering point of view is one that sees the south node as symbolising talents and strengths already developed, yet all too often it is seen through the sludge of conditioning and past mistakes, impacting on our karma

The north node when it come to karma is referred to as the Dragon’s Head and expresses what we have to do in this life to bring ourselves back into balance. Unfortunately, the interpretation of the past is often loaded with quite definitive meanings about who we are and how our story is defined and mapped out for us to follow and create a more harmonious flow of karma.

Finding a balance in karma is not simply about cause and effect. Finding the story of the subconscious moon is about understanding our karmic past in order to get the best out of the here and now. It is a great way to find the depth of who we are and what we have done; to discover the basic meaning of all we have done in act and thought, in order to find and fulfill our destiny. If this has meant that we have been more unconventional, radical, then the revalation of this story must be opened up so that we can get the perspective on it. This does not allow deeds that take power away from others or remove the rights they have to a life of harmony.

A modicum of surface control over people may be gained by karma, people who may otherwise take advantage but it will not stop the actions of people who are self regarding and out for themselves at whatever cost to others. Karma cannot be used to order what is inside peoples hearts. It is in a personal universe that we reside and justice is only to be found within this, within our personal heart. It comes from the intentions housed in the heart and the kind of world they want to create. For harmony there is to be no detaching of ourselves from others. There has to be an understanding of the light of true intelligence to see the wider perspective.

Past lifetime journey Past lifetime journeyknowledge is meant to make us stronger, not make us feel like victims of circumstances and karmakarma beyond our control. This feature tells you all about it; There is understanding and the light of real intelligence to see the bigger perspective.
