Themes For Car Shows

By Jeffrey Jackson

A wonderful event to host for the summer is a car show. Car shows are perfect for the summer time. If you want to draw in a large crowd, hosting an outdoor car show during the summer weekends will be the best time of year to do so.

Successful car events are ones that are planned ahead of time. Making plans for a good car show will make your car show look more professional. Here are some theme ideas to consider during the planning stages.

1.) Before you decide on an event see what other themes have been done by recent car shows. You don’t want to repeat one that has just been done. Even if the theme is a great one, such as a car hop, you don’t want to bore people by doing the same theme.

2.) Consider using specific vehicles for inspiration. You can feature a theme around one specific vehicle and cater towards that theme. For example, if you are showcasing the mustang car use the mustang, or horse, theme for decoration and inspiration.

3.) Look to the past for ideas. Restore cars from the 1950′s, and have a 1950′s car hop theme. Car hops, rock-n-roll, and sock hop dance moves can bring in customers and ensure they have a fun time.

4.) Muscle Car themes can also be fun. These cars from the mid-1960s through the mid 1970s were large, powerful vehicles. Hold activities around the muscle car theme, such as arm wrestling, and award prizes.

5.) Antique Car shows are one of the most popular themes for car shows. A lot of people are enthusiastic about antique cars, and there is a high chance of getting a lot of people to participate. Cater towards the antique theme by having employees wear early ’20′s clothing and hiring out barbershop quartets.

6.) Host a unique vehicle car show. Have a car show based off of various miscellaneous vehicles. The more rare the vehicle, the better. Examples could include taxis, hearses, police cruisers, and buses.
