Back To School Gift Ideas

By Kurt Cobbler

Going to college is nerve wracking to some people. This is usually the time we try to live away from our families and survive in dorms on our own. This is also a hard time for parents as they sent their sons or daughters to their chosen university.

Our parents want us to adapt to the changes and brought about by going to college. I understand that it is hard for every parent so I have collated a list of important things any college student would like to have. Use this list so you can give the best gift to your child.

A Cool Car

Most students going to college and living alone would want to have an access to transportation so they can go out and buy food or drive home if they can. A car helps boost your child’s confidence. A private means of transportation is really helpful.

Laptop and PC

Laptops are efficient tool of any student. Save files, take notes, search answers in the internet, study using online eBooks and so many more. Laptops are sleek and easy to carry anywhere. You can access the internet anytime and this can be used in day to day needs. This is one device that is compact and powerful and can be the most important tool of any college student.

Smartphone or Cellphone

Call your child anytime and ask if they are doing great. Connect with them by giving them smartphones or cellphones. They can also use that to connect to their friends, your relatives and even to other people who can help them in their studies. Smartphone is very important in the lives of each student. They can connect to the internet even without a wifi and send important emails anytime.

External Hard Drives and USB Flash Drives

We always want to have back-up plans so it is best to provide your son or daughter an option to back up computer files, projects that are saved in their laptops or even their copy of important documents. Giving them USD flash drive or external hard drive can make a difference especially when their laptop was stolen or experienced technical issues. They will have a copy of the works they already finished in just a simple click. There will be no need to repeat the process and be stressed.

College life is a hectic world. Extra time is just hard to find. As much as possible you want to give extra time for your son or daughter to have fun, rest or study harder. Give them their own printer. Though printers can be found within the school building, it is not in his or her room. Going out just to have their files printed is tiresome and it takes away little extra time they got.

Game consoles, TV and iPods

These things are not that important but they can provide great entertainment. Release and lessen your son’s stress by giving him a game console so he can play games. iPod’s are great for people who love music. Give them an outlet of stress because college is very stressful. This way they can cope up and finish their studies without any issues. However, you have to judge if your son or daughter is responsible. If your son is addicted to online games or even console games, why would you give him a game console? Do you want him to fail?

Just remember that when you choose a gift, weight the facts and the benefits your child may get. Also check if there are any risks that can hasten your child from finishing his or her studies.
