Ever wonder why some people seem to find all of the best deals online, meanwhile you only seem to get free shipping and maybe a free snuggie? Follow these tips to becoming a successful online shopper and be prepared for next year’s holiday shopping season.
Tip 1. Check out the chat rooms and blogs. Most of the best online deals are not very well advertised, they are meant to be special gifts to a few select people, not the masses. This is why going to shopping chat rooms, forums, and blogs are a great way of finding out some of these great deals. Word of mouth spreads quickly, but word of chat room spreads like wildfire.
Tip 2. Check out your favorite local sites. Just because it is not a huge chain, does not mean that your local boutique does not have some killer deals. They might be better advertised on their sites than some of the big guys and chances are they might have a bigger selection of items on sale due to lack of storage space.
Tip 3. Edit, edit, edit. Yes it’s a great deal, but do you really need another hand painted Faberge egg collection? There are some really great deals online, but not all of them are necessary and many times you could end up wasting money, rather than saving it. Just make sure you really want what you’re getting before you click purchase.
Tip 4. The Power of a Wish List. Shop online a few days before and email your findings to yourself. Take note of the sizes/colors/amount of the items that you want and create an online wish list. This will make the day of much easier and above all, faster.
Tip 5. Enjoy the holidays. The holidays are a time for spending with family. The whole idea of shopping online is to get things done easier, faster and cheaper. Spend that extra time by doing something engaging with your family that does not involve click, click, click.
