The sense of smell can elicit very strong memories. What attracts you to certain scents may be events that made you smile in your life. So when finding a perfume and cologne for yourself take the time to strike the right memory.
The question lingers of whether perfume and cologne are different? Is it just that men wear cologne and women perfume? Or is there an actual variation in the items themselves? The truth is there is no difference between the two, other than the amount of essential oils that are added.
Perfume is a higher concentration of essential oils and therefore has a stronger and longer lasting scent value. Cologne is less in these oils and that is what makes it lighter. They both can be worn by men or women although the names have been more attributed to one sex than the other.
Perfumes are crafted for women so there are a lot more floral notes to their makeup. Cologne that is created for a man is going to have musk, oak moss, earthy tones, or citrus at the base of the makeup. This means that the scents are a deeper timbre than perfumes. However, many perfumes for women are crafted with these same oriental and earth tones at their base.
It is a personal journey to find a scent that you love and wish to emit to those you encounter. Yet having more than one aroma that surrounds you is a good measure. There is a balance to our world with day and night, the fragrance you use for each time should be different.
While it might be difficult to find even one scent, having another fragrance available is a good idea. One aroma may be perfect for the night and then have another that is lighter for day. Having a choice means you have more options to what lingering scent you want to leave.
To narrow down the immense choices that the market place offers think of a time or an experience that leaves you with a good feeling. Then remember what aromas were there. These mental and sensual combination can draw you to the fragrance you want others to remember you by.
Because essential oils need something to bond to the common article is alcohol. But this is a volatile component that can dissolve quickly taking your favorite scent with it. Keep the tops tightly on your bottles to keep the scent inside. Remember that there is a shelf life to fragrance and keeping it too long means it will not have the same dynamic as before.
To have a scent that lightly suffuses to you there are things you can do. Applying the fragrance after your skin is warm allows the pores to receive more of the aroma and release it throughout your travels. When dabbing on your scent make sure to put at the ears, neck, wrists, and knees to use your heart beat to reactivate the fragrance all day.
Making your choice of perfume and cologne means that how you smell will be presentation of who you are. This coupling is a terrific way to establish who you are to the world at large and to remind yourself that what you smell like can affect others.
