Anyone with a granite countertop or surface should know the importance of granite sealer. This is integral to the long term well being of your granite, so this is something that you’ll want to handle properly.
Let’s take a look at these factors, and I hope they’ll be useful for you down the line.
The first question I usually get from people is how frequently they’ll need to do a sealing job. I wish there was an easy answer that applied to everyone, but this answer could really vary depending on a few different factors.
One such factor is the quality of the granite sealer that you’ve purchased. If you’ve bought a good one, the liquid sealer will last longer than it might for a thinner, lower quality solution. This is something that you should definitely keep in mind when choosing which granite sealing solution to buy.
Many people are misled into believing that buying a lower priced bottle will save them money. Ironically, a quality bottle of the same size can last twice as long due to the fact that it won’t need to be used as frequently.
Your floor or countertop and its composition will also have a bearing on how often you should apply your granite sealer. If your floor has more pores in it, the floor will absorb the treatment more effectively.
Here’s another tip that should extend the duration that any sealing job lasts for. Make sure that the air in the room is free of dust, as these could end up mixing in with the sealer and rendering the job less effective.
Therefore, if you’re in the middle of building the room with the granite being sealed, you should do everything you can to remove any unnecessary items from the room. Clean the rest of the room, as well as the granite counter or floor before doing the job.
One more thing that matters is the maker of your granite sealer. Go with someone you can trust, and try to get the best price possible. Personally, I look for these things by shopping online. As long as you plan ahead, the few days it takes to ship to you won’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
