A visit to Amsterdam promises to be a trip that will not easily be forgotten. As a cultural hub and busy city, Amsterdam makes for a great place to either spend one day or a couple weeks. Located in the Netherlands, Amsterdam is a unique looking sort of place that features something for whatever sort of vacation you’re looking for. Whether it’s a romantic weekend, a crazy party, or a culturally educational experience you’re seeking, Amsterdam promises to keep you busy. However, you will need a passport, so either make a trip to your local pass port office or go online and get passports for everyone in your family.

In Amsterdam, you are able to actually visit the place where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary. This, along with many more sites, make Amsterdam a must-visit for those who love history. The Anne Frank Huis is a must-see for those who have ever read her story. Seeing first hand just where Anne spent two years of her life hiding from the Nazis adds a whole new facet of realism to the story, and this location continues to touch and move people from all over the world. Like mentioned previously, you will need a passport. Make sure to see if your passport is damaged or if it’s outdated. If it is, simply go online to renew it.

It is important to be aware that the suggest method of travel within the limits of Amsterdam is by bicycle. This is the method used by the locals and it won’t take you long to figure out why. With so many narrow streets and lack of available parking, you investigation of this Dutch countryside will be much easier if you choose to take the two-wheel method of transportation. You will also be able to discover many beautiful, interesting sites that would not be accessible by car. You will certainly find a surprise around every corner so don’t be afraid of a little healthy exercise. You won’t regret it.

Amsterdam has always attracted some of the most talented artists around and not just today but for centuries. This is evident as you visit their large number of museums with one of the most famous being the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. There you will find over 200 pieces of this master’s work and after a visit, move on to many of the over 50 other museums. As you can quickly see, the art lover in anyone would be irresistibly drawn to Amsterdam. Now for all you jewelry lovers, you know they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend and Amsterdam’s Diamond Museum is sure to inspire the diamond lover is us all, men and women alike.

Known for it beautiful parks and open spaces, just taking a walk through this beautiful city can fill the visitor with wonder and awe. There are more than thirty beautiful parks and open spaces in Amsterdam including the Vondelpark, famous for its romantic atmosphere. An abundance of flowers, shade trees and landscaping create an opportunity to relax, people watch or even picnic among some of the most beautiful scenery available within a busy city anywhere.

If your U S passport is damaged, you will need to locate a U.S. passport office and begin the process of attaining a new one and, once in hand, you can go about the business of making memories in the astonishing city of Amsterdam.
