Destinations To Check Out While In The City Of Brisbane

By Javier Borgas

The Eastern Australian state of Queensland has the beautiful city of Brisbane as its capital. The hot humid summers and wet and cold winters are experiences by approximately 2,000,000 people.

High humidity has spoilt many a trip to this area, so the clever tourists make sure that they visit Brisbane is late summer/early Fall, mainly September. There is a lot of sporting activities to take part in, and the warm weather enables you to do this.

Your trip to Australia can be greatly enhanced by visiting the following attractions.

Whether you live in Brisbane or just passing through, a visit to the Southbank is a must. Chiefly known as the home of EXPO 1988, the fake sand which makes up the authentic looking beach is a great draw.

This has been painstakingly created to look exactly like the real thing, everything you would expect to see at the shore is here; minus crabs and jellyfish! The parade of restaurant, bars and shops are also appreciated by the visitors.

If you enjoy strolling round markets, then the weekend markets at the Southbank are perfect for you. In fact, whatever you enjoying doing will be catered for at the Southbank. Dancing to a Latin beat is the main event on a Friday night, and there is something else happening every day of the week.

You will have no doubt heard of the glamorous Gold Coast. The rich and famous are known to vacation here, but it’s accessible to everyone. At about an hour’s drive from Brisbane, it’s well worth a visit.

What do you look for in a good resort? Elegant shops, luxury hotels, vibrant nightlife and plenty for the kids? The Gold Coast has all of these and so much more, and that is why it is so popular and gets so busy on holidays and at the weekend. So plan your trip wisely. It’s no fun being stuck in a traffic jam for hours on end before you even get there and then have to face the same coming back.

There is so much to do and see here, that a mini break is highly recommended.
