Beaches In The Philippines For Tourists

By John Payne

The Republic of the Philippines is a breathtaking collection of more than seven thousand islands in the southeastern part of Asia. The country has an assorted culture, with very rich customs and very friendly citizens. The area has been found to house numerous kinds of fish, animals, plants, forests and wildlife. Possibly the most well known asset of the Philippines is its beaches. Therefore an individual looking for a good beach would to do well to know al about beaches in the Philippines.

Wonderful beaches abound in the Philippines in the hundreds, and they even host various flora and fauna. However, there are specific beaches that are popular among tourists because they are pointed there by the Department of Tourism. A further attraction of these beaches is the existence of travel packages that include meals and accommodations that are relatively cheaper than in other countries. These locations are laid out below.

Boracay is considered the top destination for beach goers. It has the perfect stretch of white sand that doesnt heat too much under the sun. The water goes a long way from the shore without coral which makes it perfect for swimming. Boats can also be hired so one can go to diving or snorkeling sites that house fascinating coral reefs. And lastly, it offers a variety of services and activities like night parties, spas, restaurants and other seaside activities like wind surfing and jet skiing.

Pagudpud is another must see area. It is in the far northern Luzon province of Ilocos Norte. In comparison with Boracay, Pagudpud is secluded and silent. The area is bordered by mountains and forests so it is also an excellent place to hike and camp. The Pagudpud shores are packed with white sand. The big waves in the area attract surfers. Many tourists compare the area favorably to Hawaii.

One important thing to remember about the Philippines is that it has three main lands which are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. This fact is important because a tourist would be able to easily locate beaches to their liking by knowing where they are. Most beach resorts in Luzon offer a lot of day activities such as beach volleyball, snorkeling and jet skiing whereas beaches in Visayas and Mindanao allows one to have a heart to heart talk with nature due to its mountainous surroundings while at the same time get to explore caves found in scattered islets.

The queen city of the south, locally known as Cebu also has its share of amazing beaches. They are Mactan Island, Malapascua Island and Bantayan Island. All islands have beaches that contain white sand and clear, cool waters. They mostly offer good diving and snorkeling sites.

Another classic in island-enraptured beaches would be Panglao Island which is found in Bohol. It is considered a recent discovery in the list of top beaches in the country but it sure is doing great due to its calmer seas and smoother, longer stretch of sand. It is not comparable though to Camiguin Islands which is a volcanic, pear-shaped island found at the northern tip of Mindanao. Besides the usual activities offered in most beaches, Camiguin Islands is well known for its nature trekking.

And of course, last but definitely not the least are the beautiful beaches of Palawan. An island found along the western part of Visayas. Palawan houses the very famous El Nido beach resort and Honda Bay which has breathtaking diving sites because of the enormous coral reefs and large number of fish of different species. It also offers cave exploration, lagoons, white sand beaches including cool and clear waters. If there is one thing Filipinos are proud of, it is the quality of beaches in the Philippines.
