Are you moving for good? Oftentimes, the thought of moving can send you mixed emotions. You would feel ecstatic because you look forward to the new place or a new community. However, if you’ve lived almost all your life in your current place, the thought of moving would somehow feel so hard. Anyhow, you know you need to move on. So, as much as you can, you shouldn’t feel bad about moving especially if it’s a decision that should help you improve your way of life. By now, you should really be preparing for your big move. You need to be on top of everything else – from packing to shipping, transportation and any other requirements for moving.
Within that one month time frame, you will have quite enough time to do any or all of these things:
1. Check out vans and trucks for hire. You need to have an idea how much load you are going to bring with you to the new place. Would a moving van be enough or should you rent a truck, instead? The earlier you check on these types of services, the more you get to have the chance to get reasonable quotes after you have put together and compared all information that you have gathered from various sources. It helps to inquire ahead so you can set aside an appropriate budget fro it. Don’t think twice about letting your friends or relatives know that you welcome any form of help – anything to hopefully have a successful move.
2. Scout for better deals for shipping supplies. You know you need to have shipping boxes, right? Find out how many boxes it would take you to pack all your stuff. Check to see if there are any old packing boxes in the house first that you can recycle before ordering anything online. You can definitely save more if you buy these packing boxes wholesale. Make sure that you are buying the right sizes.
3. You shouldn’t mix fragile from non-fragile items. Fragile items should be carefully packed or boxed so that they don’t get mishandled during the move.
4. Make use of labels. You can stick appropriate shipping labels on your boxes so that it would be easy for you to identify boxes that need special handling.
5. In order to have proper inventory of these moving boxes, number each one of them accordingly, so that if you have numbered from one up to twelve boxes, you already have an idea how many boxes should get to your destination.
