In the USA, New England is a beautiful part that has both rural and urban areas. The areas beaches are natural and rugged in appearance and the architecture portrays the revolutionary history. The states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont are all comprised as New England.

Travelling to New England

The region was colonized by the English under the rule of James I and that’s when it obtained its name. New England’s income, during this time, mainly came from the many fishing, farming and timber industries within the area. The task of colonizing the region was not an easy one since the Native American Indians fought and fought for the freedom of the territory up until the American Revolution, where the battle ended and the Americas won.

A must see if you go to New England is Boston. It is a beautiful city with enormous historical appeal. Also, there are a lot of museums and restaurants that makes for a great few days stay. To get a feel for the historic times of New England, drive up the coast and experience the beaches and rural setting. Most of the time, the location that tourists would head for is Cape Cod.

For the shopaholics, a great choice is provided by the many cosmopolitan cities. Aside from huge air-conditioned malls, Boston is also riddled with shopping centers. You are then in luck if you like browsing through markets because the majority of urban areas in New England have weekly markets.

Dining Options

You can choose from dozens of great restaurants that are found in New England. The majority of eating establishments are proud of their fresh seafood. Cape Cod has plenty of dining options that offer a unique experience to customers. The region itself is famed for clambakes and bean suppers so they are a must have bite to eat.
